You know what? basically every program on the market today is just a repackaged calorie-controlled diet. Programs with containers. Programs with points. Programs with meal replacement shakes. No matter how they package it, they are selling the same old tired nutrition method: eat less calories to lose weight.
But is it really that simple? Do so many of us struggle with our weight because we are simply consuming too many calories? Why is the human population struggling so desperately with their health and weight while other species (other mammals, birds, etc.) don’t struggle with theirs? Our metabolisms are much more sophisticated than a simple calorie imbalance. So, what’s really going on?
Hormones: the real issue
At the very core of our metabolism and health problems are hormone imbalances. Imbalanced hunger hormones make us feel hungry all the time. Imbalanced fat burning and fat storing hormones make us gain weight faster than we can lose it.
We must re-balance these hormones in order to change our health. Hormones are incredibly powerful.
The master hormone of the body is insulin. What it says, goes. Many (if not most) of us have imbalanced insulin to varying degrees. Years of sugar and processed food eating, lack of sleep, and stress all influence this very powerful hormone. You MUST get insulin in check in order to lose weight effectively and restore your health.Guess what? Cutting your calories and fat grams won’t lower those insulin levels. You’ll just be chasing your tail.
