You’re unsure about the low carb component of the program.
In the middle of the program we have a period of low carb eating as part of our targeted approach. This isn’t because I believe carbohydrate foods are unhealthy for us, but it’s because many of the women I work with have something called insulin resistance. Lowering our carbohydrates for a time period helps break this insulin resistance. Don’t worry, the “Lifestyle Phase” of the program teaches you how to add healthy carbohydrates back into your healthy eating patterns.

I started my journey with BYP in the May 14th, 2018 round. Iâm a pretty private person but because BYP has changed my life so much inside and out I feel I need to give a testimony to how great this program is. The results have been amazing as I have been someone who has struggled with my weight and yo-yo dieting for years!
I had Inbody scans through my gym a couple of times since starting BYP. My body fat percentage has gone from 22.5% to 17.2% without a decrease in muscle mass (Diets where calories are restricted people lose muscle mass). What Makes the Best You Plan Different?
Life is more fun when we feel our very best. That’s why I finally sat down and put my years of nutrition work on paper in the form of an online nutrition program! Because I wanted to help you feel like your best you.
The Best You Plan is the marriage of my years of being a dietitian, individual nutrition counseling and nutrition research. I’ve put together the nutrition concepts that have worked for my clients and removed the ones that havenât. Since 80-90% of the women who have come to me have had a goal of weight loss, this program is designed to help women do just that. It’s not about getting a 6-pack. It’s about figuring out why your metabolism is stuck.
Another key element of the Best You Plan is to help you with your mindset because you need to recognize your worth isn’t tied to a number on the scale. It’s not the same old tired nutrition advice that really doesn’t help solve the stubborn metabolism. It’s a program that teaches you a way to eat that is sustainable for life.
What You Get
The program is 7 weeks long. The first week is Foundation Week. Here we will set goals, talk about our mindset, and get ready for the weeks ahead. The first week does not contain a specific meal plan but some general nutrition concepts to start preparing you.
You will receive 6 weeks of meal plans, recipes and grocery guides that I have personally created to coordinate with my specialized nutrition plan. I’ve taken all the guess work out! You just follow the plan.
Concepts such as intermittent fasting and nutritional ketosis (“keto”) will be used. During the last phase, the “Lifestyle Phase” I will show you how and when to add carbohydrates back into your life based on where you are at. My goal is to teach you how to listen to your body and not feel like you are dieting. Diets don’t work.
- You will be invited to an online accountability group on Facebook with the other women who are in your same round of the Best You Plan. Within the group you can ask questions, encourage each other, and watch the videos that I post meant to educate, encourage, and answer your questions.
- There will be opportunities to submit questions to the “Ask Katie” sessions. This is where I will come on LIVE on our Facebook page and answer questions you submitted. Some people choose to replay this and treat it like a podcast.
- Weekly emails will prompt you to open up your portal and discuss what to expect for the week.
- Weekly videos will be posted in your online portal every Monday discussing the nutrition goals and concepts of the week
- Each week has several different nutrition lessons designed to educate you on the WHY behind the nutrition methods of the plan.
- All of the lessons are in a format you can read in the lesson format and/or listen to an audio format.
- You will gain access to an online portal where you will receive your documents weekly.

We use real food, nutritional ketosis (ketogenic eating) and periods of intermittent fasting to break the hormonal blocks on your metabolism. As a dietitian, I see a lot of people trying to do “keto” but not doing it correctly. The right approach helps the body heal and shifts the metabolism.
During the last phase, the “Lifestyle Phase” we discuss different Lifestyle Plans that you can incorporate and create an ongoing lifestyle change. Hey there! My name is Katie Vigesaa.
I get what itâs like to struggle with your metabolism. You see, Iâm not one of those naturally thin nutritionists. The ones that tell you to eat how they eat because well, they are thin, and the assumption is if you eat like they do, then you too, will be thin. Thatâs just not how the science of a stubborn metabolism works.
Looking back, I think my stubborn metabolism has been a blessing â because it has helped me understand the science behind WHY the metabolism gets blocked and WHAT to do about it. My stubborn metabolism has allowed me to put together a plan to help YOU unstick yours!
Iâm a registered dietitian, wife, and mom of 2 little girls. I am also the creator of the Best You Plan (BYP), an online nutrition program I designed to re-wire the metabolism and mindset around food.
Outside of that, I am a really big fan of good coffee (Dunn Bros. girl for life!) Fresh flowers are my love language, and I really donât know how I truly lived before realizing eggs and bacon were part of a healthy diet.
